Aquatics Program

Town of Yucca Valley manages the use of the swimming pool located on the Yucca Valley High School campus. The Town conducts a summer aquatics program from June through August each year. The summer program consists of morning swim lessons for all ages, afternoon recreational swim sessions, and special sessions for water exercise classes and lap swimming. Special events are scheduled throughout the summer.

At the Community Center, office hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Registration will also be accepted at the pool office beginning on June 18, 2018. Classes will remain open until filled.
Withdrawals/refunds: Withdrawal requests must be received at least 10 days before the first day of the session. Withdrawals/refunds are not available once the session begins.

Skills Testing Schedule Aquatics staff will be available at the pool during the following times for skills testing.
(Testing only, NO registration on these dates.)

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
and anytime the pool is open during the regular swim season.

Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course 2018

Registration is underway for the Town of Yucca Valley Lifeguard Certification Course. This course will provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for health emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.

To enroll in the lifeguarding course, you must be at least 15 years old by May 13 2018 (the last scheduled class session) and be able to pass a prerequisite skills evaluation. The course fee of $220.00 includes American Red Cross registration fee, lifeguarding manual, adult/child CPR mask, whistle, pack, and instruction. All sessions will take place at the Yucca Valley High School pool located at 7600 Sage Avenue, Yucca Valley.

Instruction consists of six sessions to take place on Friday evenings on May 4 & 11 and daytime sessions on the weekends of May 5-6 and 12-13. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to interview for summer positions with the Town of Yucca Valley Aquatics program and, if hired, may be eligible for a 50% fee reimbursement.

Open enrollment, successful candidates will be interviewed for Aquatics positions. Course is two Friday evenings and two weekends. Course dates: May 4, 5, 6, & 11, 12, 13
